Project description
A diffuse bottom-up micro-architecture project.
The idea of the project is to focus on those key points in a neighbourhood which have high but unexploited potential setting in motion processes of urban and architectural regeneration.
The target is to achieve punctual but diffuse regeneration, almost a form of urban Pointillism, by remodelling on a human scale a number of non-designed or underused interspaces, located throughout the area covered by the project to give them a new measure on a human scale.
The starting point is the interpretation of the existing environment, to identify those points where potential exists. Bolstering that potential sets in train a number of virtuous circles, changing people’s perceptions of the area and ultimately transforming it.
The involvement of citizens in all the phases of the process is an important part of the project: from the identification of needs to the construction and use of the new space. This emphasis on the human dimension, which this involvement implies, promotes integration, leading to a sense of sharing and bringing together different ways of being and thinking which rarely seem to be harmonious.
